Job Description
We are seeking a mid-level cold fusion developer to  provide sprint-driven agile software development lifecycle support for ongoing Operations and Maintenance of a DoD HR system. 

Position: Software Engineer
Clearance: Active SECRET clearance, strongly desired - will sponsor if needed MUST BE US CITIZEN
Location:

  • Telework (Full Time)
  • PD Inc HQ in Baltimore, MD (Ad Hoc)
  • DISA HQ in Fort Meade, MD (Ad Hoc)

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Desired Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems) from an accredited institution is desired but not a must. 

Certifications:

  • Desired Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Experience:

  • 10 - 15 years of professional experience;
  • Professional experience in:
    • Cold fusion based agile software development lifecycle activities
    • Worked in sprint based agile development environment
    • Ability to coordinate with Business Analyst, customer and business areas manager regrading requirements
    • Ability to coordinate with technical lead to support, respond and be tasked with development duties
    • Ability to coordinate with System Admin in script release and security scan resolutions
    • Ability to coordinate with Database Administrator
    • Familiar with DEV, TEST and PROD environments
    • Experience using software management ticketing system and diligent in updating ticket status to facilitate DEV status communications

Skills (required):

  • ColdFusion (2021 preferred)
  • SQL (SQL Server 2022 preferred)
  • Git

Skills (desired):

  • Debugging
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps.
  • Can set up their own standalone development environment
  • Java (or willing to learn)
  • HTML 5 (or willing to learn)
  • JavaScript (or willing to learn) for AJAX
  • CSS
  • Accessible design (508 compliance) and tools (e.g. ANDI)
  • Can work in both Windows (local developer environment) and Linux (production server) environment
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements provided in customer requests for change (RFCs) and perform design and development
  • Requirements elaboration and clarification with end users, business analyst, and business area manager
  • Support user story development if required.
  • Develop the built for customer and facilitate User Acceptance Testing
  • Facilitate code from DEV, TEST and PROD

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active SECRET clearance

Other Requirements:
1. Maintain a US Department of Defense security SECRET clearance
a. Prepare for upgrade to TOP SECRET / SCI if needed
2. Increase professional knowledge and skills on a daily basis
a. Continue education in systems, software, cybersecurity, DevOps, and business process engineering.
b. Learn and use requirements and project management collaborations tools. E.g. JIRA and Git.
c. Learn and use other miscellaneous technologies to support our projects
3. Assist on gathering requirements, documenting designs, and other operational matters of significance related to your engineering projects.
