Job Description: Systems/Identity Engineer — OSS Network Services
This position supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Transport Services Directorate (IE) and its Cyber NetOps Tools Division (IEA) on the Operational Support System (OSS) Legacy Systems Sustainment effort. OSS comprises tools and enclaves used by DISA Tier II/III to monitor, control, analyze, and manage DoDIN/DISN equipment; while OSS is a legacy environment being replaced by the cloud‑based Global Management System (GMS), it must be sustained to ensure continuity of operations during transition. Primary work is performed at Ft. Meade.
Mission of the role. Your charge is to keep OSS reliable, secure, and accredited across lab and production by sustaining: (1) the OSS Lab Network, (2) Network Services (AAA, DNS, NTP, Syslog, SAN/NAS/Brocade, RDP), (3) CDBA, (4) JSME, and (5) OSS Firewalls/technical refresh—using a lab‑first pipeline, disciplined change control (IP/DP with reversion), STIG/IAVA patching, and clear documentation.
Overview:
This engineer sustains OSS Network Services (AAA LDAP/SecurID/TACACS, DNS/BIND, Syslog, SAN/NAS/Brocade, NTP, RDP) across lab (hands‑on) and production (Tier II coordination, break‑fix, design/testing).
Support Scope:
Maintain availability, patching, accreditation, STIG compliance; integrate new customers/services in lab; produce design docs, architecture updates, IP/DP plans, test reports, RFCs; meet ticket response SLAs and monthly reporting.

Lab Operations
- Patch/upgrade, configure services, test integrations, and prepare IP/DP+reversion plans.
Production Support - Triage/troubleshoot break‑fix with Tier II; lab‑validate changes; submit RFCs; maintain diagrams.
SLA & QASP Alignment - Acknowledge tickets ≤24 hrs; daily status; drive ≥93% targets/≥90% AQL.
- 5+ years with enterprise identity/DNS/time/logging services; storage (SAN/NAS) and Brocade switch ops.
- DoD 8140 IAT‑II; strong STIG/ACAS, RMF artifacts.
- Security+, CySA+, RHCSA/MCSE (as relevant); Linux admin; BIND/FreeIPA; Brocade/NetApp.
- Primarily on‑site (lab and classified work at Government facilities).
- Clearance: Top Secret/Secret; NIPR/SIPR; OSS enclaves.
